The Liquid Screed Specialists (LSS) team was in Penarth today, focusing on the most critical stage of any flooring project: the preparation. We completed a full floor preparation installation on a site measuring just over 100m².

Many people don't realize that the secret to a flawless finish lies in the groundwork. From insulation and tanking to perimeter strip installation, our meticulous prep ensures every liquid screed pour goes down perfectly. Whether you are building in the Vale of Glamorgan or across South Wales, LSS provides the essential foundation for a high-quality, level floor.

Our Professional Prep Checklist Includes:

    • Moisture Protection: 1200 gauge damp-proof membrane (DPM) laid as the primary protective barrier.

    • Thermal Efficiency: High-grade insulation boards installed across the entire 100m²+ floor area.

    • Thermal Bridge Prevention: 25mm insulation upstands fitted to all external and internal walls for maximum edge protection.

    • Airtight Sealing: All insulation joints fully sealed with premium foil tape to prevent screed loss.

    • Expansion Control: 8mm edging strip installed to allow for natural movement and a clean perimeter finish.

    • Final Tanking: 500 gauge slip membrane installed as the final layer to "tank" the area.

    • Flawless Finish: All joints double-sealed with duct tape for a completely airtight, pour-ready finish.

Location:  CAPEL DEWI, CARMARTHENSHIRE
Sector: DOMESTIC
Area: 98m2

The Liquid Screed Specialists (LSS) team was out bright and early this morning, heading west to the peaceful village of Capel-Dewi, just outside Carmarthen. Our mission: to deliver a flawless liquid screed installation for a local refurbishment project.

We arrived just in time to catch another beautiful sunrise, painting the sky while the kettle boiled for that all-important first brew of the day. With our mugs warming our hands, we got straight to work on the preparation—the most crucial step for a high-performance floor.

Precision Pumping: Thin Liquid Screed for Renovation

The LSS team began by setting all levels perfectly, ensuring the refurbishment was ready for a clean and accurate pour. This meticulous preparation guarantees a perfectly level and smooth floor finish.

Once the levels were spot on, we efficiently pumped in 4m³ of Tarmac’s Thin Liquid Screed. This specific product is ideal for modern renovation work due to its fast-drying properties and superior thermal conductivity, making it perfect for use with underfloor heating systems.

The result is a high-performance flowing screed that provides the customer with a durable and exceptional finish. Another early start, another great result, and another customer in the Carmarthen area delighted with the expert LSS screeding service.
